Mini 1000 Automatic

1986 Mini 1000 Auto in Targa Red. The car was very original and quite solid. We stripped the body shell, removing doors, boot and bonnet. We fitted 2 new head light rings and welded a small patch under the os head light.We removed both A panels, door steps and hinge panels and replaced with new ones.The drivers door was in poor condition, so we fitted a new door skin and door bottom. All panels were primed before fitting with zinc spray, then after welding. The only other rust in the car was in the very rear of the boot floor, so this was cut out and a new panel fitted. Along with a rear lower panel. There was no other rust or scabs on the car!
Next all the new welded parts were sealed. The car had had new sills well fitted nearby, along with a new subframe and rear radius arms.
The underside of the car was then panel guarded front to back. We then painted it all over in Targa Red except the roof. The rear subframe block has also been painted.
The rear brakes were stripped down only to find they were as new, so only had to be cleaned and adjusted.
The front suspension was all removed, cleaned and repainted along with the brake callipers. Which are in good working order.
It has all been reassembled with 2 new steering rack gaiters, drive shafts greased, new knuckles, wheel bearings cleaned and greased. All four ball joints stripped cleaned and adjusted. As a matter of course new front brake pads have been fitted. Brake fluid changed and the engine has been fully serviced.
The interior has been cleaned and scrubbed, then refitted, its all in very good condition. New front bumper fitted, 2 new indicators fitted with 4 new wheel arches fitted and side moulding (a devil to fit, but now looks very good!)
The car has only had 3 owners from new, with 64`000 miles on the clock, This car has had a very good life and been looked after.
All the work has been completed to a high standard, using all original trim and the correct Targa red, no 1 shade.
The car will be sold with a new MOT on purchase.
